iVend eCommerce – Skin 107 Variant 2– Configuring Home Page

A new mobile responsive skin has been incorporated with release of iVend eCommerce 1.6.

With the introduction of this new skin, iVend eCommerce opens up in terms of offering to its Customers a new enriched look & feel of the web-site to woo its shoppers and provide the ease of shopping at the Shoppers console.

In this topic you will learn to configure home page of skin 107 variant 2.

Note: - Ensure that you have taken backup of the web files and folder and the Database. Previous knowledge of iVend eCommerce and knowledge of HTML / XML / XSL / CSS will accelerate the understanding of the document.

How to configure home page of skin 107 variant2 of iVend eCommerce?

Post installation of iVend eCommerce 1.6, change the skin id to 107 (if it is not). After logging into admin console go to Content >> Manage Skins >> Select Skin 107 and template variant as “Variant2”.

The home page of Skin 107 Variant 2 has been split into different sections for better understanding. Each section has been described below, as to, how and where does it come from or how it can be configured.


 

 

Now we will configure each section of home page that is highlighted with red rectangle.

Configure Menu: Login as administrator and Click on the Content->Manage Topic

After open Manage Topics Window, Search Skin107.MainMenu in filter option of Topic Name Text Box.

 

Now click on Skin107.MainMenu link and edit it in HTML editor as per requirement.

Note: For editing you should have a knowledge of HTML and CSS if you want to change in the look and feel of the Menu.

 

Side Menu Navigation (Vertical) Configuration:

  • Click on the Content -> Manage Topic. In the Manage Topics Window, search Skin107.Home2.VerticalMenu in filter option of Topic name text box.

Now click on Skin107.Home2.VerticalMenu link and edit it in HTML Editor as per requirement.

Configure Main Banner and Side Banner:

  • Click on the Content -> Manage Smart Slider. After open Manage Smart Slider Window, click on the caption link of slider which you want to edit.

After open the Edit Smart Slider window, you can edit content or choose image as per business requirement.

Note: Please select Main in Display Location Dropdown box for Main Banner.

 

Note: Repeat same steps like Main Banner for the configuration of Side Banner, only thing to be kept in mind is to choose display Location as Mini from the dropdown box as shown below.

Configure Widget1 (Best Selling):

For Best Seller Configuration click on AppConfig Parameters under Configuration Menu as shown below:

 

On the Settings window, search and configure the following parameters accordingly:

1.BestSellerProductsCount: This is used for number of products display in Best Seller widget of home page. For Ex., if you want to show 10 products in this widget then you can define the value 10 for this parameter.

 

2.CXS.BestSeller.EntityType: This is used for define the types of entity in which products of bestseller you want to display in widget.

Valid Values: category or section or manufacturer

3.CXS.BestSeller.EntityIDs: In this configuration need to put single or multiple (comma separated) entity Ids of above defined entity type. This will show the products of these entities which will fall under the best seller conditions.

Valid Values: 1,2,3,4……etc.

Note: Since, Best Seller depend upon the maximum number of products sell in the last 6 months of duration from the current date. So, if you are unable to find any product/s display under this widget then it means that no product/s has been sold which falls under these entities.

 

Configure Widget2 (Hot Deals):

For Hot Deals Configuration click on Configuration ->AppConfig Parameters

Search and configure the following 4 parameters:

1.HotProductsCount:  This is used for number of products display in Hot Deals widget of home page. For example, if you want to show 4 products in this widget then you can define the value 4 for this parameter.

 

2.CXS.Hot.EntityType: Put the entity type (category/section/manufacturer) for which you want to configure the hot deal products.

Valid Values: category or section or manufacturer

 

3.CXS.Hot.EntityID: Put the entity id which falls under the above entity type, ensure that the hot deals products have been mapped in this entity id.

Valid Values: 1 or 2 or 3 or any integer value 

 

 

4.CXS.Hot.UptoDiscountSlab: This slab will be used to filter the products under the defined slab. Put here comma separated integer discount slab which you want to show in percentage for filter the products (refer screenshot). Suggested to enter here maximum of value 4, so that 4 slabs appear for better appearance on shopper console. For Ex., 10,20,30,40

 

 

Configure Widget3 (Dive into New Experience):

This widget is managed by topic. Need to edit the text and image as per business requirement. For editing login to admin console and click on Content→Manage Topic as below:

Now Search Skin107.Home2.DiveNewExperience in the Topic Name text box of Manage Topics Window and click on the link under Name heading.

Now in Description window need to edit the HTML and Image as per business requirement and then click on save or save close button to save the changes.

 

Configure Widget4 (New Arrivals): For configuration of New Arrivals widget need to login to admin console and click on Menu Configuration->AppConfig Parameters. In the Setting Window need to search and configure following 3 Parameters:

1.NewArrivalsProductsCount: This is used for display the number of products under this widget.

Valid Values:  Any Integer Value as per requirement

 

2.CXS.NewArrival.EntityType: Put the entity type (category/section/manufacturer) in which you want to display these products.

Valid Values: category or section or manufacturer

 

3.CXS.NewArrival.EntityIDs: In this configuration need to put single or multiple (comma separated) entity Ids of above defined entity type. This will show the products of these entities which will mapped under these entities.

Valid Values: 1,2,3,4……etc.

 

Configure Widget5 (Popular Categories):  To configure this widget login to admin console and click on Content->Manage Topics as shown below:

In the Manage Topics window search Skin107.Home2.PopularCategories in Topic Name textbox of filter criteria and click on Apply Filter Button.

Now edit these html contents in the Description window as per requirement and then click on Save and Save or Close Button to save the changes.

 

Configure Footers: There are 4 Types of footer need to configure for Variant2 of Skin 107. You can edit all of the footer text or image as per requirement. It will be better if you have a knowledge of HTML and CSS for editing the contents.

1.Top Footer: For footer configuration/editing need to login to admin console and click on   

Content->Manage Topics as following figure:

In the Manage Topics window search Skin107.FooterTop  in Topic Name textbox of filter criteria and click on Apply Filter Button.

After click on the link under Name heading edit/format your top footer in the description window as shown below:

Follow same steps for rest 3 footers by searching the following topics respectively in the Topic Name text box of filter criteria.

  1. Middle Footer: Search Skin107.FooterMiddle and edit it as per requirement.

 

3.Social Footer: Search Skin107.FooterSocial and edit it as per requirement.

 

4.Bottom Footer:  Search Skin107.FooterBottom and edit as per requirement.   

 

After all the configuration done the home page look and feel will be like as shown above for shoppers.
