Modifying the Static text,Data Fields and UDFs
Hi, my name is Kumar and in this video I will demonstrate How to Modify the Static Text, Data Field and UDFs.
Any user with basic XML and programming knowledge can customize the iVend POS receipts.
Let us see how it is done.
In Management Console, under Administration go to menu Retail Configuration and here select the option Print Profile. Print Profile Search screen appears. Choose the relevant print profile and click Edit button to edit the record. You can edit the XML format of any of these POS receipts by clicking on Document icon in the Data column, and the sample XML documents are available in your iVend Server at iVend Installation folder. Let us check it out.
Go to iVend Retail, Management Console, and select Receipt Format and here are the XML POS receipts. Let us open this in any XML editor. Here, you can modify the String attribute of any element, element to modify the static text. This is the static text, so if you want to change the static text, you can do it and you can modify the attribute like Object 0, Object 1, String of any element, element to modify the Data field where Object 0 refers to the object property, for which the value needs to be printed. Mathematical calculation can be done between the object properties.
Similarly, you can define Nth number of object attributes like Object 1, Object 2, and so on, and String attribute refers to the value printing of the properties defined in the Object 0 till Object Nth attribute. This attribute takes values as defined in the argument pattern. Any Unicode character including blank space is allowed to be printed before or after the argument printing.
Alternatively, this attribute can be used to print the label values without referring to the object value. Also, an Excel spreadsheet with the name PropertyList.XLS is available for the full property list supported in the XML receipts. You will find this fine Excel as an attachment with the knowledge article which is modifying the static text data field and UDF.
Let us go through knowledge article and check that Excel. So, this is the knowledge article where you will have the attached Excel spreadsheet of complete property list. Let us scroll down. Here is the hyperlink for the property list Excel spreadsheet. You may click on this to download the Excel. Also, you have frequently used properties listed here in this article.
You have another hyperlink for the same Excel spreadsheet. Let us click on this. Let us open this. This is the list of frequently used properties whereas you will have the complete list of properties.
Now, to ease your search for the property, you can use the Pivot spreadsheet and you can choose the desired object in cell B2 for which you want to see the properties and you can have the list of properties for the desired object and sub object.
So, in this way you can use this Excel spreadsheet for the list of complete properties and can modify the Static Text, Data Field, and UDFs.
With this, we end our session.
Thank you for watching this video.
