Wizard based Standard Report


Hi, my name is Kumar, and in this video I will demonstrate how to create Standard Report through Wizard.

For that, let us go to iVend Management Console. In iVend Management Console, go to Reports then under menu which is Designer Label, select option Report Designer. On Report Designer Screen, click on File and then select Standard Report. This is a Standard Report Wizard. Please note, when creating a report using this Standard Report Wizard, the report will contain one Data Band or one Data Table, which depends on what is selected.

Now, there are various steps to create the Standard Report through Wizard. Let us start with Data Source. On this step, the Data Source is defined and this is compulsory step. The new Data Source button is used to create a new Data Source. Click on it, select the Connection, Select Data window will appear where you may choose the Query or Tables, Views or Procedures.

Let us select the Table, I will select one of the table which is INVProduct. This is the table and Okay. Choose this Data Source and then click Next. Next step is to select Column of the Data Source, and this is also mandatory step. So, let us select Column. I will select few columns like ID, Description, let us take Discount Allowed and Base Price. Then, click on Next.

Then, we have Column Order. This step defines position of columns in the Data Band. The top down order of column shown in the panel corresponds to their left to right position in a report. So, if I want to take this down, I can do that and then click on Next.

Then, we have sort. On this step, it is possible to specify elements and sorting direction. Here, you can do sorting of data. Let us say, I want to sort data based on ID column. I will select the ID, and we will keep it in ascending order. Please note, you may sort on multiple columns as well. For that, you need to click on Add Sort, and if you want to remove, click on Remove Sort. Now, let us move ahead, click Next.

Next, we have Filters. On this step, you can set the conditions of filtering. Click on Add Filter, let us select the column here. Let us select the Description which is Not Null.

Now, let us move to next step, so click on Next. This step defines the condition of grouping.

Then, click Next. Now, on this step, it is possible to select a function for calculating totals by any Data Source column. For each data column, its own function of aggregation can be set.

Then, click on Next. Here, you can select the themes of the report. Let us take this one and click Next.

Now, we have Layout, here you can choose the layout for your report, like page orientation, report unit, and a component that will be used for report rendering which can be Data Band or Table. Once you are done with this, click on Finish.

Now, you may preview this report or you can press F5 to generate it. Let us click F5, and here is the standard report created through wizard.
